Valiant is a Jamaican dancehall artist known for his energetic performances and street-inspired lyrics. Born Raheem Bowes in rural St. Andrew, Jamaica, Valiant began his musical journey at a young age, singing from the age of five and writing songs by seven. He gained initial exposure as a member of Popcaan's Unruly Camp before achieving viral fame in 2022 with the catchphrase “Kotch e hat, a lie.” This led to a series of hit singles, including “Dunce Cheque,” “North Carolina,” and “Speed Off,” which dominated Jamaica’s YouTube charts. In 2023, he released his debut mixtape 4:14, which topped Apple Music Jamaica and showcased his versatility. Valiant's rising prominence earned him the MOBO Award for Best Caribbean Music Act in 2024 and a recording deal with Sony Music UK’s Epic Records. Beyond music, he is recognized for his philanthropic efforts, such as funding education for students in need.
